All across the world, Greek immigrants have established restaurants, schools, churches, law firms and so many other endeavors. The United States is home to about 3 million Greek-Americans, all embedded into their communities, but there's not a central hub where we can find and support these businesses. Until now.
The Greek Directory is a modern digital platform created and developed by a young Greek-American from the Chicagoland area with aspirations to be the bridge between our Greek communities and our Greek-owned businesses. Created from scratch, our Directory is fast, reliable, and smart.
Greek businesses are everywhere, but they’re not easy to find. That is the problem I set out to solve.
I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago in a Greek-speaking environment and have been part of it my entire life.
But I started noticing something: outside of personal connections, Greek resources are scattered, outdated, or simply hidden.
My idea for The Greek Directory came from something simple. I was at church one Sunday, using the GOARCH Digital Chant Stand to follow the liturgy on my device. Afterward, some people around me had asked how I had gotten it so easily.
That moment made me question something: why isn’t everything Greek-related this easy to find? Not just church readings, but businesses, organizations, events, churches. That’s when this became more than an idea.
I reached out to business owners, restaurateurs, entrepreneurs, and other Greeks throughout Chicagoland, and their responses were consistent: “Greek businesses need better visibility…the community needs a central place to connect.”
The Greek Directory is being built to be exactly that: a trusted, organized, and growing platform where anyone can discover and support Greek-owned businesses.
Since November 2025, I have been building this from the ground up—writing thousands of lines of code from scratch.
When I began building The Greek Directory, I quickly realized that the existing tools and platforms weren’t enough to support the kind of experience this community deserves.
So instead of settling, I made the decision to rebuild everything from the ground up — with a focus on performance, usability, and long-term growth.
This isn’t just another directory. It’s a platform built with intention, designed to properly represent and connect Greek businesses and communities at a higher standard.
Right now, this is a one-person operation. I’m actively searching and verifying businesses across Chicagoland, but to scale this properly and achieve this mission, our community needs to be involved.
If you’re Greek and own a business, submit it.
If you know one (or many) that should be listed, suggest it.
This only works if we build it together.
